As a community bank, it’s our responsibility to give back. We strive to continuously engage our neighbors through hundreds of hours of volunteerism and sponsorship of various events. Plus, we really enjoy it.

Farmington Bank's community activity

From December 1 through 15 Farmington Bank surprised one local non-profit each day with items from their wish lists. Donations were made entirely by Farmington Bank employees and included small appliances, clothing, cleaning products, bedding, groceries, toiletries, board games, gift cards and much more.

Holiday Donation Surprise recipients included: A Hand Up Inc., Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity, Gifts of Love, Interval House, Inc. of Greater Hartford, Hockanum Valley Community Council Inc., Mercy Housing and Shelter Corp., My Sisters Place, The Open Hearth Association, Plainville Community Food Pantry, Prudence Crandall Center, and St. Agnes Home Inc.

Farmington Bank employees truly expressed their spirit and generosity with an abundance of donations that will help many individuals and families this holiday season!

Holiday Surprise

Farmington Bank is a proud sponsor of the 7th Annual Farmington Bank Community Concert Series featuring Simply Swing, a 10-piece orchestra. Simply Swing specializes in the music of Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie; vocalists Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole and Diana Krall; and high-energy swing dance favorites. These concerts are a wonderful opportunity  for families, friends and neighbors to enjoy time together in their own communities. The concert series is free and open to the public. Farmington Bank employees joined hundreds of other volunteers in New Britain, CT for Rebuilding Together and in Springfield, MA for Revitalize CDC. Employees volunteered their Saturday to help a needy family with home repairs, yard clean up and landscaping.

Over 60 employees delivered 650 boxes of diapers (50,000 diapers) to 34 different agencies and pantries throughout central CT and western MA. Thank you to Fitzgerald Foods for the use of their storage truck and the discounted diapers.


The United Way (UW) of Central and Northeastern Connecticut supports the programs of 83 partner agencies in 40 towns. Each year Farmington Bank employees participate in a company-wide UW campaign involving pledges, raffles and donations. This year we raised over $32,000 which will go to helping various designated charities.

Farmington Bank is proud to be the multi-year Presenting Sponsor of the Golden Kielbasa Veterans Open, one of Connecticut’s largest charitable golf tournaments benefiting veterans. To date, the Open has raised more than $40,000 for various local veterans’ charities, providing much-needed services including housing, food, clothing and medical aid.
Farmington Bank supports several local non-profit fundraisers, dinners, runs and more throughout the year including Tavern Day, the Apple Festival, the Connecticut Cycling Festival and the Travelers Championship just to name a few.
