Farmington Bank Debit Cards contain an embedded microchip that creates a unique code every time you use your card at a chip-enabled terminal, further protecting your card from fraud.
If you’re making a signature-based transaction during checkout and your Debit Card is declined, it may be due to our enhanced fraud protection. If you believe there are sufficient funds in your account, re-run the transaction and use your PIN for authorization, which should allow the payment to process. Always carry a back-up payment source in case your card is blocked due to suspected fraudulent activity.
Out of town travel
Make it a point to contact us before you travel because some Debit Card transactions may be blocked in particular regions or countries due to excessive fraudulent activity. Additionally, if you attempt to use your card at an unusual location, it may be viewed as suspicious activity and declined.
Receive fraudulent transaction alerts
As a partner of Elan Financial Services, we’re pleased to offer Farmington Bank customers the My Mobile Money Access app. My Mobile Money provides you with an added level of protection from fraudulent transactions. You can receive text or email alerts for transactions based on criteria you set such as:
- Merchant type (e.g., gas stations, department stores, restaurants, entertainment, travel, and groceries)
- Transaction type (e.g., ATM, retail transactions, and online)
- Location of your device or a specified region
- Transaction amount over a specified threshold
You can also deny transactions based on criteria you set. Simply download the app and register your debit card to start monitoring activity wherever you go.

Always keep your contact information updated with us (e.g., phone number, mailing address, email address, etc.). We can't notify you about suspicious activity if we aren’t able to reach you.
Regular account monitoring
Use our Small Business Mobile App and/or Online Banking to monitor your account activity regularly. Make sure all payments are yours, and contact us immediately at 877-376-2265 if there are any discrepancies.
Turning your debit card on and off
Use the Debit Card On/Off switch to turn your Debit Card on or off as needed. A great security feature if you believe you or an employee has misplaced a card, or if you just want added protection. Turn it off and on as often as you like ─ the switch is instantaneous. Turning off your card impacts future Debit Card transactions only (point of sale and ATM). Formerly authorized transactions will be paid and any recurring transactions you had previously set up will be processed as indicated. If you believe that your debit card is lost or has been stolen, please leave it in the “off” position and contact us immediately.
MasterCard® SecureCode™ provides added protection for your Debit Card against unauthorized use when shopping online at participating retailers. Register your card, create your own private SecureCode, and you'll be automatically prompted at checkout to provide your code each time you make an online purchase with a participating merchant. It's just like entering your PIN at an ATM.
Safeguard your PIN
Memorize your PIN. Never store it with your card, write it on your card or share it with others. And never let anyone borrow your Debit Card.
